Here's to a great new year!!

Start of Year Rambles and Chats! Let's Catch up!

Hello everyone!

First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!! It is so crazy to think that it is the year 2018! This year I will be turning 29! How crazy is that? I still remember when I was 16 and thought that 21 was so old haha But here I am, getting closer to the big 3-0! Now I definitely feel like an old lady haha but I really don't. I really don't feel any different than I did when I was younger. I am talking about mentally, definitely not physically haha (so many aches and pains). I definitely have way more responsibility as an adult and things I do or say can affect others more than it did when I was a teenager with no real responsibilities.

Anyway, enough rambling! I wanted to get on here and just talk to you all a bit about what I am planning on doing with my blogging/youtubing endeavors, haha. I don't know how else to put that... I really enjoy both of these things and I feel like I didn't do quite as much as I wanted to do with my blog or my Youtube channel last year. I actually barely did anything. I absolutely love to blog and love to make videos but my job has been such a big part of my life this past year (literally took over my life) that I barely had any time to focus on things I actually enjoy doing.

As most of you know (or maybe don't know if you don't know me) I work in retail. I became a Store Manger in 2017 so that required a lot of work on my part and it still does to this day (I love being in charge though haha). I don't get just days off when I can just relax. There are always phone calls and problems at the store that I need to take care 24/7. Even as I am sat here writing this blog, I am actually FINALLY  on a mini staycation (now that everyone else is going back to work! I was not allowed any time off since the middle of November until the end of December. They call it "Black Out" in Retail where you cannot be off for more than your two regular days off a week). This month is the last month I can take my PTO (paid time off) otherwise I lose it. Since I barely took any during the year, I have about 2 weeks to take that I have split up between the beginning of the month and the end of the month (my birthday is on the 29th). So anyway, I have been on PTO for two days and already had to deal with some things from work. I am never fully off duty haha! Anyway, I am trying to take this time and really think about what I want to do with my blog and with my youtube channel.

I also am planning on starting a business! This has been something I have been planning for a long time, but again, never had the time to actually focus on because of my job in Retail. I know this sounds like a lot of excuses but I don't know if you guys have ever worked full time in retail and as a store manager before. It is A LOT  of work and it takes a lot out of you. I am almost never off my feet and I am constantly dealing with different situations. Making the schedule, being on conference calls, covering shifts, doing floorsets, doing markdowns, writing people up, putting together contests, dealing with everyday needs of the store (which is too much to write). You get the gist! Also, I don't get a set schedule. It is all over the place! One day I go in from 9am-6pm, one day is 1pm-10pm, one day could be 10am-8pm. It changes every single day and every week so it is very hard to schedule anything else or plan a business or work on any other goals one might have.

I am making 2018 the year that I will start working on my goals! I want you all to be part of this journey and hopefully we can make this a great year! We only get one life and we have to make the most of it. Life can be over in just a split second and if we continue doing things out of necessity we will only live in regret. Regret of what could have been if you did the things that you actually wanted to do. Also just remember to not stress the little things and live in the moment. Enjoy your family and friends and all the happy memories you are creating. Take some pictures ;)

I know this post is all over the place but I am mostly just wanting to share the idea that we have to take charge of our own lives, do what we want to do and achieve our goals (of course do everything with good intentions and be a good person). Everyone needs to learn how to be a better person. No more getting offended by the little things in life, more helping others, let shit go! Forgive and forget! You can be a great person and you can live a good life if you put your mind to it!

Ok, now I am definitely getting off track haha! The main idea is: LET'S MAKE THIS YEAR A GREAT YEAR AND ONE THAT WILL CHANGE OUR LIVES FOR THE BETTER!

New blogs, videos and hopefully a great business to come this year woohoo! Cheers!

COVERGIRL VITALIST HEALTHY ELIXIR FOUNDATION REVIEW

Hi everyone,

Today I wanted to tell you all about a new drugstore foundation that I have recently purchased and really enjoy at the moment!

It is COVERGIRL'S VITALIST HEALTHY ELIXIR FOUNDATION! I purchased this foundation a couple of weeks ago from Target when I was out shopping with my sister. I didn't necessarily need a new one since I was trying out the L'OREAL LUMI CUSHION FOUNDATION (which I really like), but that is more of a light coverage foundation that is buildable. I needed one that was more of a full coverage for days when my skin is more problematic or red (which is almost all the time haha).

I have been working 6 days a week at my job and my skin has definitely been suffering from the lack of rest so when I saw this new foundation I decided to give it a try! I liked the sound of it.

Before foundation, red, blotchy, tired looking skin

It is a foundation that has vitamins E, B5 and B3 and also has an SPF 20. The name HEALTHY ELIXIR just sounded appealing to me! It states that it is a lightweight, full coverage foundation. It is oil free and it is meant to hydrate the skin and leave it looking glowy.

The packaging is appealing. It is a glass bottle with a pump which I think it is great! The cap is plastic. You get 30ML or 1FL OZ. It comes in 14 different shades. I got the shade ivory (705)

MY THOUGHTS

The first time I tried it, I applied it just with my fingers, no sponge or brush. It applied really well! It blended well with my skin (I have combination to dry skin). It didn't stick to my dry areas and it didn't look cakey on the skin. It did have a little bit of a glow to it which I love in a foundation. It does have a perfume-y smell to it so if you don't like something with a scent then this would not be for you. It didn't bother me at all.

I used it all over my face and even on my dark circles. It immediately brightened and balanced out any red blotches I had on my face. I applied two pumps of it all over the face and I didn't need any more.

After using foundation/no concealer yet

Overall, I really liked this foundation. It wore well throughout the day, didn't look patchy and covered up all of my problem areas.

Full Face/no lipstick yet ;)

Let me know if you have tried this foundation before and what you thought of it!

:)

Foundation was purchased by me and all thoughts are my own
